Drawing on decades of leadership in maritime history\, education\, and nonprofit organizations\, Ms. Sirota examines how today’s stewards and interpreters of maritime identity translate science\, history\, and lived experience for the public. She currently serves as Deputy Director of the National Maritime Historical Society and spent nearly three decades at the Maritime Museum of San Diego\, where she created hands-on educational programs\, curated exhibits\, managed tall ship festivals\, and designed and directed the Pacific Heritage Tour for the replica 1542 San Salvadore that connected hundreds of thousands of people to the Pacific’s maritime past. Deeply committed to place-based learning\, Susan’s work explores how the Pacific has shaped California’s communities\, culture\, and sense of identity—making maritime history relevant\, accessible\, and meaningful for all ages.

She has a B.A. in Marine Science from UC Berkeley and a M.A.S in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. In 2018\, Amber was recognized on Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the energy sector for her work developing sustainable\, creative\, and cost-effective solutions for the environmental issues that surround the offshore energy industry. \nMrs. Sparks is also a PADI certified rescue diver and Ambassadiver. \nEmily Hazelwood\, M.A.S.  \nEmily is a marine conservation biologist\, offshore energy consultant\, and entrepreneur. She has a B.A. in Environmental Science from Connecticut College and an M.A.S degree in Marine Biodiversity and Conservation from Scripps Institution of Oceanography. As a leader and explorer\, Emily is committed to elevating the scientific understanding of our oceans in communities worldwide and she volunteers her time as a science educator at schools across the country. In 2018 Emily was recognized on Forbes 30 Under 30 list in the energy sector for her work developing sustainable\, creative\, and cost-effective solutions for the environmental issues that surround the offshore energy industry. \nMrs. Hazelwood is also a PADI certified Dive Master and Ambassadiver and a SCUBAPRO Deep Elite team member. \n\n\n\n\n
