He holds degrees in Natural Resource Management and Environmental Horticulture from College of the Desert\, Coastal Resource and Watershed Management from the University of Hawaii\, and a Master’s in Conservation and Restoration Science from the University of California Irvine. Kevin specializes in advanced propagation techniques such as plant tissue culture to conserve rare\, endangered\, and challenging-to-grow plants.\n \nKatie Elder:\nKatie serves as the Wildlife Conservation Manager for the Catalina Island Conservancy. She did her undergraduate work at Humboldt State University where she received BS degrees in Wildlife Conservation Biology and Marine Biology. She completed her masters work at California Polytechnic State University\, SLO studying island fox home range characteristics on Santa Rosa Island. Katie worked for seven years facilitating independent wildlife research projects with middle and high school students in New Mexico\, and taught high school biology for a year. She is passionate about meaningful science engagement for young\, budding scientists.\n
