The Institute includes state-of-the-art teaching labs, the spectacular Maddie James Seaside Learning Center, a historic tall ship, and an oceanographic research vessel. Immersion-based field trips range from one-hour science labs to overnight programs. All programs are designed to maximize immersion, spark curiosity, and inspire a deep commitment to learning.
As the cornerstone of our mission, education brings discovery and learning to each student. Our immersive- based field trips foster STEAM exploration, promote critical thinking, drive life-changing learning opportunities and abide with Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for educational programming.

Deposits
- Due 30 days after booking
- NON-REFUNDABLE
Rescheduling
- 1st request – no cost
- Additional rescheduling requests -$100/per change
Full Payment
- Due 45 days before program
Waitlist
- Please email fieldtrips@oceaninstitute.org to join our waitlist.
- If dates become available, a booking representative will email regarding which dates are now open.
- Responses are required within 24 of receiving the email in order to secure a spot.
- Dates and programming will be awarded on a first come first serve basis.
Cancellations
- Deposit – NON-REFUNDABLE
- Cancelled over 45 days out, current payment minus deposit returned
- Cancelled under 45 days out – full payment NON-REFUNDABLE
