BEACH CLEANUP OPPORTUNITIES
Looking to give back to the ocean and your community? Join us for a two hour Beach Cleanup!
Ocean Institute beach cleanups removed over 1,700 pounds of trash in 2019. Help us prevent even more trash from entering our ocean. Please wear closed toed shoes and bring a refillable water bottle. Those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Ocean Institute will provide trash pickers and compostable bags!
Community Beach Cleanups
Offered once per month!
In Partnership with Stand Up To Trash.
Join us for a two-hour Community Beach Cleanup from
9:00am to 11:00am.
Check-in at Ocean Institute or Baby Beach where bags, buckets and grabbers will be provided, reusable gloves are encouraged!
Hot Cocoa and snacks will be available at Baby Beach starting at 9:00am.
Private Beach Cleanups
Interested in organizing a private Beach Cleanup Event? Schedule your own!
We ask that private beach cleanups have at least eight participants. There is a $30 fee to reserve a private beach cleanup. This fee helps us to maintain our cleanup supplies. Included in that fee are compostable trash bags, use of our buckets and trash grabbers, weighing in of the trash, and disposal after collection. Please note, the fee does not include any Ocean Institute staff to supervise on the beach. We recommend wearing close-toed shoes and bringing reusable gloves and water bottles.
