NEPTUNE’S MYSTERIES 3-DAY CAMP
Neptune’s Mysteries is a full-day camp for campers age 5-7 years old.

Become a scientific investigator to unravel the mysteries of the ecosystems right here in Dana Point! Using scientific tools and techniques, you will study a new case each day: Why is Becky the Blue Whale so far from home? Who tried to eat Marcus Mackerel? How will we find Kelsey Crab’s home? To more closely examine our clues, we will embark on a hike through the Dana Point MPA and explore the animals at the tide pools. Come join us for a fun-filled week of puzzles, ocean-themed crafts, and learning about our local marine plants and animals!

Buccaneers Adventure is a full-day camp for campers age 8-10 years old.

Set a course for adventure to discover the life of pirates! Investigate shipwreck mysteries to learn about the adventures of sailors in the past. Complete your pirate training by learning the ropes to survive at sea with dockside activities on our historic tall ship, the Spirit of Dana Point. Activity highlights include lost mariner arts like sail handling, rowing, boat building, storytelling, and a “Dress like a Pirate Day” to complete your training.

COASTAL EXPLORERS 3-DAY CAMP
Coastal Explorers is a full-day camp for campers age 10-12 years old.

Discover the unique coastline of Dana Point in this activity-packed camp! Study the science of the surf zone and coast in our hands-on labs. Campers will investigate human impacts on the ocean and environment with water quality testing, fish dissection, collecting samples, kayaking* in Dana Point Harbor, and exploring the tide pools in the Marine Conservation Area.

COVID POLICIES:
ALL Staff and campers must wear face masks. Group sizes will be 10 campers with 1 instructor.
Ocean Institute has increased the frequency of sanitation on public surfaces – door handles, restrooms, etc. Restrooms are available on-site at the Ocean Institute for participants. These areas will be disinfected before, during, and after use. There will be access to hand sanitizer and hand-washing stations in each room.
The heath and safety of our guests, staff, and volunteers is and always has been of utmost importance to the Ocean Institute. We are constantly assessing the status of the State and the Orange County’s public health guidelines and making decisions related to the most up to date information from the center for disease control and OC Department of Health.

Camps are non-refundable.
Programs/events usually proceed in light rain and other moderate weather conditions; however Ocean Institute may cancel the program/event up to one hour before the start time in the event in adverse weather conditions or boat-related issues. The decision to cancel rests solely with the captain. Transfers to a comparable program or a refund will be provided if Ocean Institute cancels the program/event.
